About the role
The Opportunity
You’ll be part of the team leading creative execution across our own business, and our customers - from our brand marketing and merch to premium bespoke packaging, and everything in between. As a commercially minded mid-weight designer with brand and product experience, you’ll turn ambitious customer ideas into brilliant, production-ready packaging.
You’ll be the creative spark for our Account Management team, taking high-value projects from the first scribble of an idea through to samples, production and delivery. You’ll join customer conversations, turn brand identities into standout packaging and bring fresh product ideas to life. Every project brings a fresh brand, a new identity and a different creative challenge, from exciting names on the rise to some seriously big brands you’ll be proud to work with. You’ll have a sharp eye for branding and packaging that really stands out, with your finger firmly on the pulse of what’s fresh, innovative and leading the industry.
What you’ll get stuck into
Be the creative go-to. Lead the creative side of internal briefs as well as our premium accounts, and become the trusted packaging partner customers, and our commercial team, want in the room. Get under the skin of the brief. Join customer calls and workshops to understand the brand, the practical must- haves, the budget, the volumes and what a brilliant result looks like. Bring the ideas. Turn loose, ambitious or complicated briefs into clear creative routes, moodboards and concepts that customers can get excited about. Work your branding magic. Take customer brand worlds and make them sing across packaging dielines, creating accurate, production-ready artwork and guiding feedback through to sign-off. Think beyond the box. Dream up custom formats, shapes, sizes, materials and finishes—balancing the wow factor with usability, cost, lead time and what can actually be made. Make it real. Coordinate mock-ups, prototypes, samples, print proofs and colour reviews so customers can see, touch and confidently approve the final direction. Keep the plates spinning. Own actions, milestones, dependencies and risks across several projects, keeping customers and internal teams clear on what happens next. Join the dots. Turn creative ideas into crystal-clear sourcing briefs, then translate supplier feedback into useful, customer-friendly options. Team up with the makers. Work with our sourcing partners and supplier network to test ideas, solve tricky problems and protect the creative vision all the way through production. Become our packaging guru. Stay curious about materials, print, finishes, formats and emerging solutions, then share the best ideas with customers and the commercial team. Keep standards sky-high. Protect brand consistency and technical accuracy with careful checks, tidy files and clear documentation. Help Sales shine. Give the local sales pod the inspiration, tools and creative confidence to pitch brilliant bespoke solutions and grow key accounts.
What you’ll bring to the table
A strong portfolio demonstrating brand-led packaging design, artwork across dielines and ideally bespoke or structurally innovative packaging. Solid experience in packaging, print, FMCG, foodservice, retail or related production-led design environment. Confidence working directly with senior customer stakeholders - presenting ideas, steering feedback and constructively challenging a brief. Advanced Adobe Creative Cloud skills, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop; excellent artwork, pre-press and file-setup discipline. Bonus for experience with Figma. A progressive and refined use of AI in your workflows. A practical understanding of dielines, print processes, substrates, finishes, tolerances, colour management and production constraints. Strong project management: clear scoping, prioritisation, documentation, expectation-setting & follow-through. Commercial judgement. The ability to balance creative ambition with price, minimum order quantities, lead times, operational performance and scalability. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate between creative, commercial and technical audiences. Plenty of curiosity, a cool head when things get busy and a collaborative, ‘let’s find a way’ attitude.
Bonus points for
Experience in structural packaging design, CAD, 3D visualisation or prototyping. Experience working with overseas suppliers, sourcing teams or multi-site customer programmes. Knowledge of sustainable packaging principles, materials, certifications and claims. Experience supporting tenders, pitches, range reviews or premium account growth.
You’ll know you’re smashing it when
Customers experience a confident, consultative and well-managed journey from concept to completion. Creative proposals are distinctive, commercially viable and translated into accurate, production-ready specs. Projects progress with clear ownership, fewer avoidable revisions and reliable on-time approvals. Sales and Account Management involve Creative early and view the role as a trusted partner in winning and growing strategic accounts. Sourcing and suppliers receive complete, actionable briefs and can solve challenges quickly without losing the customer’s original intent. Exploration of relevant new materials, finishes, formats and engineered solutions, to inform wider-business product development and eCommerce catalog growth.
