About the role

Job Description

Launch your career in Financial Services with this exciting opportunity to join a high-performing and dynamic team of CX Researchers and Designers at RBC Insurance.

As a valued team member, you will contribute to reimagining the RBC Insurance public website and drive the adoption of innovative experiences for RBC Insurance. You will support and assist the Experience, Innovation, and Product Integration team in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

What will you do?

  • Work as a part of the broader Client Experience and Digital Design (CXDD) team to support in conducting evaluative user research.
  • Coordinate the user research recruitment efforts.
  • Support in creating test protocols of moderate complexity to evaluate prototypes, improve understanding of current context, or to generate new understanding of user needs.
  • Synthesize research insights from primary research.
  • Conduct secondary research to help understand the problem we are trying to solve.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Market Research, Social Sciences or related discipline
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies (e.g., surveys)
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to wear several hats and juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of user experience research
  • Knowledge of various UX research methods and tools (e.g., usability testing, card sorting, tree testing)
  • Knowledge about agile environment
  • Appreciation for the potential of ‘design thinking’

Please note :

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
