About the role

POSITION: Library Page (Competition #2025-85)

LOCATION: Thamesford Library Branch

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Permanent Part-time

REPORTING TO: Branch Supervisor

UNION AFFILIATION: Non-Union

WAGE RATE: $17.20/hr.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensures the shelves are in good order so selection of books for exchange or requests can be done in a timely, efficient manner. Assists with other functions as determined by supervisor.

Hours of work: Up to 7 hours per week.

Must be available to work evening, weekend, and some day-time hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· At least 14 years of age, who is a quick learner, and able to complete on the job training.

· Knowledge of basic computer skills and the Internet is essential.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· Knowledge of shelving systems, including the Dewey decimal system.

· Knowledge of the community is an asset.
