We are looking for an AVP Corporate Financial Management and Reporting
Reporting to the VP Finance, Corporate Segment and Shared Services, the AVP will own the corporate financial management process and regulatory reporting for the Canadian regulated entities.
What you will do:
- Accountable for the timely and quality delivery of the annual expense plan for corporate shared services through engagement with senior executives
- Accountable for the timely and quality delivery of the quarterly regulatory reporting for the Canadian regulated entities including various industry surveys
- Actively manage various internal reporting for senior executives team including variance analysis and commentary
- Own and enhance corporate expense allocation and settlement process including simplifying existing processes, methodologies and governance
- Lead corporate initiative prioritization and management process with focus on prudent business casing process, tracking of costs/benefits and timely reporting to group CFO
- Actively manage various internal reporting for senior executives team including variance analysis and commentary
- Act as trusted consultant to senior leadership on complex expense and regulatory matters including timely delivery on ad hoc requests
- Assess and adopt tools as appropriate to optimize work processes and elevate the function overall.
- Lead a team of dedicated finance professionals
What you will bring:
Knowledge & Expertise
- 10+ years of experience in the financial services sector, preferably in insurance and/or wealth management, including in corporate role(s) requiring engagement with senior executives
- Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA).
- Client service mindset and consulting skills
- Knowledge and experience with planning and forecasting tools
- Strong Microsoft Suite skills
- Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated credibility and professionalism in effectively articulating complex issues
- Ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong people leader experience building a high functioning team
The base salary for this position is between $111,000 - $205,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
