Trust and Treasury
The Trust and Treasury Services team is responsible for UNB's treasury functions including ensuring that University Investment policies, strategies and programs are effectively implemented and administered; the effective management and administration of University cash flow and banking activities; and oversight and administration of University debt management plans and activities.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 28 hours per week
Salary Range: $25.28 - $29.92 per hour
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Manager of Trust and Treasury, the Treasury Assistant is responsible for bank and credit card reconciliations, monitoring bank account transactions, and troubleshooting reconciliation issues. The role also investigates issues with Recruit's TouchNet set up and processes refund requests. The role also prepares trust transfer requests including applying a decision matrix.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliation with a high volume of transactions.
Review all incoming deposits for card payments including Interact, Mastercard, Visa, Amex, and other credit card types to ensure they have been posted to the bank accurately and on time.
Monitor Safe transactions to ensure amounts have been posted to the bank accurately and on time.
Monitor all applicable bank accounts for fraudulent banking transactions.
Perform other various banking tasks related to NSF / returned cheques, wire transfers verification.
Transfer monies between bank accounts to maintain proper balances.
Monitor credit card chargeback items and forward to proper departments / units.
Process refunds requested by the Registrar's Office though Moneris Gateway.
Troubleshoot reconciliation issues that arise.
Set-up, modify and deactivate users on the TouchNet Platform.
Review TouchNet transactions and trouble shoot issues as they arise.
Prepare trust transfers including collating documents, calculating available for purpose, applying decision matrix to request and creating journal entry.
Serve as a backup for the other Treasury Assistant.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
WHAT YOU BRING
2-year Business diploma or certificate, equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.
Three to five years relevant experience, including two years accounting experience.
Must be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of bank reconciliation processes.
Must be able to investigate and trace transactions between Bank and General Ledger.
Above average computer skills are required, specifically Excel.
Additional Strengths
Experience with Pivots and Macros is an asset.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
A University Degree with a focus on accounting is an asset.
