Assistant Controller

We are seeking a proactive Assistant Controller to support financial operations through accurate ASPE reporting, strong internal controls, cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis. This role also supports ERP implementation activities including documentation, testing, and validation. Ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, continuous improvement environment.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Perform month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and support year-end audits
  • Analyze costs, labour efficiency, and inventory reconciliations
  • Support ERP implementation, testing, and finance workflow documentation
  • Maintain internal controls and recommend process improvements
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA designation or active pursuit required
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong ASPE, cost accounting, and inventory knowledge
  • Manufacturing and ERP experience considered an asset
  • Advanced Excel skills; Power BI is an asset
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time office environment
  • Additional hours during month-end, year-end, and ERP milestones
  • Occasional travel may be required
