About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Planning, the Aircraft Asset Manager is responsible for all technical aspects of the company’s owned assets from aircraft acquisition/ manufacturing to aircraft sales and delivery. The Aircraft Asset Manager will support sales and operations by having a complete understanding of the aircraft maintenance status, configuration, and current utilization so the executive team can make informed decisions about the asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organization and Leadership: Provide leadership and management within the department through a structural process of objective setting, performance appraisals, and individual development plans as appropriate. Establish an accountable quality organization by embracing and demonstrating responsible leadership principles. Encourage a culture of daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of performance
  • Manage the company owned assets ensuring that all the technical aspects are complied with Canadian Airworthiness Regulations (CARs).
  • Support aircraft acquisitions and lease returns from a technical perspective ensuring that the asset meets CARs and business requirements.
  • Monitor leased assets to ensure customer compliance with lease agreement terms.
  • Support company assets transition to customers ensuring a great level of service and customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries about company assets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure aircraft readiness to meet company requirements.
  • Liaise with Sales and final customer to determine aircraft final configuration.
  • Support customer inspection during final delivery and acceptance of aircraft;
  • Work to continuously improve the acquisition and delivery processes, resulting in exceptional and consistent customer experiences.
  • Create and maintain all the processes, tools and technical requirements for aircraft management including aircraft additions, leases and customer delivery transition.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Perform any other related project or task as required

Qualifications

  • AME Transport Canada License, Aviation related Degree/Diploma or Engineering Degree.

Master’s degree or MBA will be considered an asset.

  • PMP will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum seven to ten (7 – 10) years of experience in project management and customer relationship.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in an AMO environment.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Civil Aviation Authority regulations.
  • Must have experience with aircraft acquisitions and imports/exports procedures.
  • Must have experience with aircraft technical records.
  • Must have experience with interpreting and executing contracts.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project within a Windows environment.
  • De Havilland aircraft (DHC8, DHC6, CL) experience will be considered an asset.
