Earls Kitchen + Bar is seeking a Commercial Kitchen + Bar Specialist to join our Facilities Team in Vancouver, BC. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring the functionality, consistency, and longevity of our back-of-house kitchens and bar operations. This role manages and executes repairs and replacement of kitchen and bar equipment and finishes, supports in the maintenance of our equipment standards, while also providing subject-matter expertise to restaurant operators.

Role Responsibilities
- Serve as a K&B subject matter expert on the Facilities Team, providing troubleshooting expertise, technical guidance, and training on operational best practices to extend the life cycle of equipment.
- Manage projects in response to reactive maintenance and repair support requests from restaurant Operators, responding promptly (within 48 hours), maintaining concise, organized email communication, and setting clear timeline expectations for resolution.
- Oversee the execution of repairs and replacements of back-of-house equipment, fixtures, and finishes, including scoping the work, acquiring quotes, seeking budget approval, procuring materials, sourcing vendors, issuing work orders, and processing payments.
- Monitor project budgets and schedules and communicate progress with key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and project success.
- Create and update AutoCAD drawings as required for kitchen layouts, equipment replacements, and minor renovations.
- Review and approve shop drawings to ensure accuracy, quality control, and compliance with project goals and standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen equipment suppliers and contractors, and internally with members of the Facilities Team and K&B Design Team to ensure timely, cost-effective solutions that align with operational needs, safety, and brand standards.
- Occasionally, travel to sites to ensure project success.
- Maintain and update the Standard Equipment List and K&B Contacts List
- Monitor equipment performance trends and escalate recurring issues for capital planning consideration.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of facility design and maintenance best practices.
- Stay solution-focused, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in facilities, construction, or design project coordination, ideally with a focus on commercial kitchens.
- Background in the restaurant, retail, or hospitality sectors is considered an asset.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Building Technology, Facilities Management, or a related field, with exposure to commercial kitchens.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to produce and update drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical (MEP) drawings and details.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Smartsheet, and/or facilities management software (FMS/CMMS).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Resourceful, proactive, and able to take initiative.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support others while driving projects forward.
- PMP or FMP certification is considered an asset.
