Onsite work location

Located at 19295 25 Ave, Surrey, BC V3Z 3X1, this full-time position offers a consistent Monday-to-Friday, 5:30 am to 2:00 pm shift, ensuring 40 hours per week. This role will require the successful candidate to start on May 18, 2026.

Why this role matters

The Distribution Centre Receiving Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring that EB Horsman & Son’s warehouse operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This position oversees daily staffing and receiving activities, supports Material Handlers and Warehouse Administration teams, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, productivity, and safety. By coordinating people and processes, the Supervisor ensures that products are received, stored, and distributed properly to support EBH branches and customers.

What to expect in the role

  • Operational Leadership: Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, packing, and cross-docking. Monitor workload distribution, ensure timely order processing, and review staff performance. Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance process, identify opportunities, and execute meaningful change.

  • Staff Coordination & Training: Assign daily tasks, manage time-off requests, and support recruiting needs. Lead, train, and cross-train staff to achieve safety and performance goals while ensuring coverage during absences.

  • Hands-on Support: Perform Material Handler duties daily and train existing and new team members. Provide backup for Warehouse Administrator duties as required.

  • Inventory & Quality Control: Oversee cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy investigations. Ensure products are handled, labelled, and stored correctly to minimize errors and damage.

  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce workplace health and safety standards, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.

  • Continuous Improvement & Project Management: Monitor and report on receiving performance, accuracy, and productivity metrics. Use operational data and warehouse systems to support continuous improvement initiatives, manage improvement projects from planning through execution, and drive measurable gains in efficiency, accuracy, and service.

  • Transportation & Logistics Execution: Track transportation performance (audits, claims, etc), support freight scheduling and issue resolution, and use shipment data to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Communication & Reporting: Share daily updates with the Distribution Centre Manager, help lead staff meetings, and report on productivity and accuracy metrics.

Ideal candidate profile

  • High school completion (post-secondary education in management/leadership is an asset)

  • 3+ years of distribution/warehouse experience and 1–2 years of supervisory experience

  • Proficiency with MS Office, Power BI, AI and LLM tools, and Business Analytics software;

  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Software (WMS) and RF scanners is an asset

  • Forklift operator certification and First Aid Level 2 certification is an asset

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work on your feet for 6–8 hours per day

  • Strong strategic leadership, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
