This position has primary responsibility for recruiting students through providing information to the public, conducting tours of the college, and participating in recruiting field trips. They also collaborate with members of the Strategic Academic Learning Team to ensure that students receive a holistic approach to their overall well-being.
Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities (Including but not limited to the following):
- Meet with perspective students, both new and returning, to discuss financing options and to encourage responsible debt management
- Communicate College policies and procedures to students
- Counsel students on the document intake, awarding, and disbursement processes
- Counsel prospective students to ensure they successfully complete the application process in a timely manner
- Communicate with students via phone, email, in-person, to answer inquiries on educational funding questions and concerns in a timely manner
- Provide excellent customer service to students
- Conduct College tours for prospective students, promoting the programs and addressing any questions and concerns
- All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred but not required;
- Minimum 3 years student Financial Aid processes experience
- Previous student recruitment experience
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
Skills and Competencies
- Commitment to customer satisfaction;
- Strong organizational and analytical skills;
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment & meet deadlines;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail a must;
- Able to multi-task, work independently and be assertive;
- Excellent computer skills.
Personal Characteristics
- Must be highly motivated, mature and driven to excel;
- Customer service focused;
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times;
