Jardeg is recruiting for a Mechanic Journeyperson for upcoming work at the Saskatoon Shop and Yard, located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The schedule for this position is 5 days on, 2 days off, day shift, working 8-10 hours per day. Please note there is no LOA or Travel offered. Candidates local to Saskatoon area will be considered.
The Mechanic Journeyperson will execute repairs and regular maintenance of our fleet of light trucks and associated equipment. As part of the maintenance team, the Mechanic Journeyperson will be responsible for troubleshooting problems as well as implementing solutions.
Responsibilities:
As a Mechanic Journeyperson your key responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
- Performing routine automotive maintenance tasks, which could include oil change, tire rotation, battery installations, headlight and taillight installations, transmission work/flushes, air conditioner recharges, CV axle replacement, brake changes, drive train repairs, electrical troubleshooting
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to identify the cause of automotive issues and make effective and accurate recommendations.
- Conducting necessary repairs and testing vehicles before handing them back to crew. Maintaining paperwork and records
- Inspecting vehicles to ensure they meet provincial requirements for safety and emissions.
- Maintaining knowledge of current industry best practices
- Ensuring equipment longevity
- Maintaining a clean and safe workplace
- Servicing/repair of magnum light towers
Minimum Requirements:
- Journeyperson Mechanic Ticket
- A minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing light-duty vehicles and trucks.
- WHMIS 2015
- Telehandler
- Skidsteer
- ZoomBoom considered an asset
