SSP Canada operates multiple restaurants throughout the Ottawa International Airport. The Shared Services Specialist is an administrative based, dual-matrix position that will provide support in finance, accounting and administrative functions. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations of the location but will also work very closely with the respective Regional Controller.
Finance Functions
- Responsible for the activities of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Room, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all payables, transfers, petty cash, and cash control. Also, ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.
- Supports Cash counting, Glory Safe servicing, reconciling Vouchers and maintaining Eigen Inventory.
- Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization.
- Work closely with IT staff to attain accurate and necessary reporting from systems.
- Perform weekly audit of safe counts in terminal(s).
- Ensure that all cash handling and inventory procedures are followed.
- Assist in technical training and maintaining of all accounting systems; IT, Lynx, Micros, MyInventory, CrunchTime.
Administrative Functions
- New employee onboarding.
- Facilitates employee airport badging, employee parking, uniform inventory management and distribution.
- Tracks "SSP Academy" Training compliance.
- Handles offboarding for employee terminations.
Skills And Other Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Accounting strongly preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of combined accounting/finance and administartion experience.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is required for this role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work on site at Ottawa International Airport.
- Ability to obtain Transport Canada Security Clearance.
