This internship will be 12 months in length, beginning immediately. Ideal for a recent graduate. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Investment Operations team for up to a12-month internship. This role is ideal for someone passionate about AI, data, technology, and automation in the investments industry. You will gain hands-on experience Investment Operations and develop AI-driven automation solutions, data management, and process optimization, while collaborating with multiple teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform financial and data analysis
- Assist with management, financial statement and client reporting
- Assist with pool and transfer agency oversight
- Develop and implement AI-powered tools and automation solutions to optimise the operational workflows of the Investment Operations team.
- Contribute to the development and support of an AI-driven operational implementation framework, helping to establish robust standards and workflows for automated processes.
- Ensure thorough documentation of all newly developed automated processes, creating clear guidelines and reference materials to support ongoing maintenance, scalability, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Use programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA) to build scripts and process enhancements.
- Work with Office 365 tools (Power Automate, SharePoint, Power BI) to enhance productivity.
- Monitor and measure data feeds from multiple sources.
- Manage and improve data quality across various investment systems.
- Assist with daily/weekly/monthly reporting and automation of recurring tasks.
- Assist with documenting process flows, developing procedures, and controls
What You Need To Succeed
- Interest in financial services and investments industry.
- Must be curious, organized, client focused, work in ambiguity, and have sound research skills.
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Finance, or related field, or a recent graduate.
- Minimum of two (2) or more co-op work terms.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, VBA, or other programming languages (experience with automation frameworks is an asset).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Suite (Excel, Word, Power BI, Power Automate).
- Knowledge of investments, financial management and accounting an asset.
