Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in mobile development with an excellent understanding of mobile best practices
- Prior experience working with React Native and the Expo frameworks
- Experience in building and maintaining applications for both iOS and Android
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences
- The ability to act as a subject matter expert and influence the direction of a product or team
- The capacity to work independently and drive initiatives without direct mentorship
- An interest or experience in working on back-end development is a plus
What the job involves
- Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the mission of the Staff Software Developer, Mobile is to empower Dialogue buyers to provide better health outcomes and achieve a stronger bottom line by creating best-in-class tools to supervise a delightful Integrated Health experience
- Leading the development of new features for our mobile apps, ensuring a seamless and high-quality user experience
- Having a big impact on the business by driving key mobile initiatives from conception to launch
- Acting as the primary subject matter expert for mobile development, guiding the technical direction and best practices for the team
- Steering the mobile development process by identifying opportunities to improve our architecture and implementing more efficient processes for mobile development
- Define plans to manage and reduce technical debt and contribute to its implementation
- Participating in and contributing to all agile ceremonies, team meetings, and broader technology department activities
- Collaborating with the wider development community to stay current with industry trends and implement them in our context
- Working with an application used by millions of Canadians, directly influencing and improving their health and well-being
