About the role

Job Description We are looking for a passionate, spirited Account Director to join our Wendy’s team here in Toronto. The addition to our team will be someone who can independently run initiatives, and support in the brand’s annual planning. They will take a leadership role on the day-to-day management of the client’s business, looking beyond their marketing needs and acting as an extension to the marketing team. Most importantly, they will be an instrumental partner to our creative, strategy and production teams, working together daily to champion big ideas and make them a reality.

What You Will Do…

  • Manage internal team, agency resources and workflow process
  • Take an active role in building a positive agency culture
  • Primary contact with senior clients, providing clients with innovative short and long term strategic marketing guidance
  • Fully understand all aspects of the client’s business and the competitive business environment
  • Take the lead role in building the clients business, generating new strategies for agency-client partnerships
  • Identify and proactively lead new business opportunities for the client
  • Ensure that team writes clear effective briefs for creative effectiveness
  • Develop effective strategies to motivate creative excellence while maintaining strategic course
  • Assist in building and championing integration across integrated agency partners
  • Ensure that agency team produces all client work with highest level of quality, on time and on budget
  • Provide council to team and client on communication projects
  • Ensure that strategies are being met on multiple on-going campaigns
  • Overall fiscal responsibility for estimates, budgets and billings
  • Responsible for taking the lead role for new hires into the group, building an effective team
  • Provide input into staffing plans, budgets and promotions
  • Take an active role in developing all direct reports, providing mentorship and conducting on-going performance evaluations
  • Assist in new business initiatives

Who You Will Have…

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a client service role in an agency
  • 3 years Account Director level experience preferred
  • QSR category experience is an asset
  • Branding and retail experience is also an asset
  • Ideal applicant would have been involved in multiple integrated campaigns
  • Solid understanding of agency and creative process
  • Track record of building strong client relationships
  • An EQ that makes other EQ’s jealous
  • Continually drive for results and highest quality standards
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated fiscal management skills
  • Ability to keep composure in high stress situations
  • Experienced people manager, demonstrating strong mentoring abilities
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker with ability to lead the day to day
  • Solid understanding of business and current marketplace
  • Ability to design and deliver presentations with a creative flare
  • Proficient in MS office
