About the Role:

Are you passionate about project management and cost control? We are seeking a dedicated Project Controls Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will focus on providing "Total Control" over all assigned projects, ensuring effective cost management, forecasting, and variance analysis. You will play a crucial role in monitoring, reporting, and controlling services throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall project costs, including forecasting and variance analysis of field and internal project costs.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of projects, focusing on field control to inform current situations and progress.
  • Collaborate with contractors to deliver training and support for EcoSys LEMs (Labor, Equipment, and Materials), ensuring accurate rates and estimates.
  • Support a team of Project Controls Advisors (PCAs) in setting up, receiving, and attesting LEMs.
  • Serve as a dedicated Field Cost Analyst (FCA) resource for high-risk, high-complexity projects.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc analysis, including graphs, summary tables, and presentations.
  • Assist the Project Engineer/Manager in Project Scope Management by providing insights into scope definition, verification, change control, and financial health.
  • Prepare expenditure profiles, workforce histograms, comparative capital cost estimates, and monthly forecast summaries.
  • Work with internal teams to understand incurred field costs and compare against budget and monthly forecast values.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators and collaborate with support groups to improve project execution.
  • Prepare project status reports with variance analysis and reasoning for Senior and Project Management.
  • Forecast project and construction costs with detailed cost variance analysis.
  • Proactively manage project controls throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare a high volume of analysis for project status.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma, degree, or related construction or operational training and/or experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years (no more than 7 years) of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Field experience is desired.
  • Experience in construction cost and scheduling controls for multi-discipline projects.
  • Industrial construction experience and familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, Contracting, Execution, and Commissioning phases are highly desirable.
  • General understanding of pipeline and terminal operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency with MS Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and Oracle or SAP.
  • Power BI experience is a plus.
  • EcoSys experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management techniques for tracking project performance is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organization, planning, and leadership skills.
  • Collaborative, team- and service-oriented work style.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to drive projects to completion.
