We’re looking for a Dredge Operator asap to support our growing team until the end of October. Great employees may have the opportunity for permanent employment with this team, or as part of the fast growing, larger KBL team. You will operate and maintain diesel and electric dredges using both remote and manual controls, ensuring all systems meet KBL’s operational standards. Skilled in efficient dredging practices, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment maintenance, and supporting team operations while prioritizing safety, environmental protection, and workplace cleanliness.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain diesel and electric dredges, systems, and processes safely and efficiently in compliance with KBL standards.

  • Participate in and support all safety programs, including meetings, hazard assessments, incident reporting, and adherence to safety absolutes.

  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment and complete all required documentation accurately and on time.

  • Assist or lead in rigging, setup, and teardown of dredging operations, including slurry piping, power systems, dewatering, and mobilization/demobilization.

  • Maintain required certifications and uphold a safe, clean, and compliant work environment while protecting health, safety, environment, and property.

Who You Are

  • 1–2 years of dredging and dewatering experience.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting 55 lbs, confined spaces, heights, extended standing).

  • Strong technical and teamwork skills, including troubleshooting (mechanical/electrical),

  • Ability to work independently in all weather conditions.

  • Must have exceptional verbal communication skills, able to give and receive verbal information and direction in a fast-paced environment.

What You Need

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold depending on location.

  • Travelling across Western Canada to support a multitude of project sites.

  • Must be willing to work day & night shifts, up to 12 hours
