About the role

About this Role

As a Chef de Partie in our culinary department, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a team of culinary wizards and create dishes that will leave our guests’ taste buds doing the cha-cha. Reporting to the Executive Chef and under the supervision of the Culinary Management Team, the Chef de Partie is both a hands-on and supervisory position We are looking for a culinary mastermind who is not afraid to take charge in the kitchen and bring new and exciting flavors to our menu. The CDP is responsible to lead, coach, motivate and oversee all staff and aspects of the Culinary department operations pertaining to the back of house. The CDP will monitor operational efficiencies, establish priorities, develop plan and ensure work quality and high standards is maintained by staff. Other responsibilities include assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in areas including scheduling, training, ongoing employee development, performance management and appraisal, establishing work standards and monitoring performance. What you’ll get to DO!

  • Monitor and control department expenditures related to labour, food costs and other operational costs;
  • Assist with the development and implementation of creative menu items for the foodservice outlets working within prescribed food cost percentage allotments
  • Assist with maintaining all back of house inventory control levels to meet business volumes
  • Assist with the development and implementation of, or modify (existing) department standards, policies and procedures where required
  • Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop, promote and participate in training programs for department employees that are wanting to advance in their culinary skills
  • Ensure all Provincial mandated laws, policies and procedures are stringently enforced at all times

What you’ll need to be Successful!

  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Minimum 2-4 years as a 1st Cook or other relevant progressive culinary experience
  • Working towards RED SEAL certification or desire to grow in the culinary arts
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including, days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
