Full-Time Child Development Specialist (CDS)
About the role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children? Our Early Support Program is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated**Full-Time Child Development Specialist (CDS)**to join our team!
As a CDS at SASS, you will provide direct support to preschool-aged children within our specialized classrooms. While each therapist is assigned a primary classroom, collaboration across all classrooms is expected to ensure a dynamic and team-focused environment.
**Contract:**School Year (End of August – End of June)
###Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one and small group instruction to preschool-aged children with autism
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Support and implement classroom programming and individualized plans
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
###What We’re Looking For
- Passionate about working with children
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Excel in time management and teamwork
- Align with the mission and values of the Society for Autism Support and Services
###Requirements
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Current Police Record Check
- Current Child Intervention Check
###Qualifications
- Diploma (minimum 2 years) or B.A. in Psychology or a related field
- Experience working with children (preferred but not required)
###Schedule
- Monday to Friday, daytime hours (7.5 hours/day; 37 hours/week)
- Lunch break between morning and afternoon classes
- No weekends
- Off during Winter Break and Spring Break
