About the role
Summary
The Wash Technician will be required to perform tasks involving physical labor at a manufacturing plant, and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools, and various types of equipment relating to the industry. Responsibilities will include the moving, operating, and setting up chemical systems to clean and rinse Meridian products. The Wash Technician will be responsible for moving product with the use of over head cranes, floor jacks and parts dollies. They will be responsible for the efficient production of products according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies. Reports directly to their supervisor.

Job Duties

Read blueprints
-
Wash Meridian product lines using hand and power tools and various types of equipment
-
Operate Over Head Cranes and other hoists
-
Mark, record and report defects
-
Clean and perform preparation of work-site.
-
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
-
Clean and maintain their tools.
-
Wash surfaces using chemical wash product.
-
Move and distribute product to pre-determined locations, according to project/process plans
Requirements
-
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
-
Some experience as a General Laborer in a manufacturing environment preferred
-
Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
-
Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred
-
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
-
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, preferred.

Work Conditions
- Job requires ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs for 50 feet is required.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.)
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include cold and heat
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
- Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
- Noise level is generally loud.
- Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.
- Excellent stamina is required.
- Hazards associated with the industry.
