About the role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
DELIVERY & TRANSPORTATION
- Safely operate company vehicles (Class 5) to deliver products to customers and distribution points
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery according to assigned routes and schedules
- Load and unload products, ensuring product integrity and temperature control (if refrigerated)
- Verify delivery documentation, including invoices, returns, and inventory counts
VEHICLE OPERATION & MAINTENANCE
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory driving requirements
CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers
- Address delivery issues, shortages, or returns in a timely manner
- Act as a brand representative while interacting with customers
HEALTH & SAFETY
- Follow all safety procedures, including safe lifting practices and PPE requirements
- Comply with WorkSafeBC and company safety policies
- Report incidents, hazards, or near misses immediately
DOCUMENTATION & COMPLIANCE
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records
- Submit required paperwork (delivery slips, returns, trip logs) daily
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & LICENSING
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (BC)
- Clean Driver’s Abstract (required for insurance purposes)
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in delivery, route driving, or logistics preferred
- Experience with refrigerated or perishable goods is an asset
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of Lower Mainland routes and traffic patterns
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
- Basic math and record-keeping skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and move items up to 25 kg regularly
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Repetitive lifting, bending, and driving for extended periods
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Early morning or variable shifts, including weekends as required
- Exposure to warehouse, dock, and road environments
- Occasional overtime based on operational needs
