Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
One year (within the last 2 years) of maternal-newborn experience and/or successful completion (within the last 2 years) of a preceptorship in postpartum/antepartum. PLEASE NOTE: This posting is scheduled to close at 23:59 of the posting end date but may be filled earlier under LOU #20 if a regular employee of the same classification who holds a regular position within this unit expresses their interest in this vacancy by 23:59 on the 5th calendar day following the posting date. If no such employee from this unit expresses their interest by the deadline, the vacancy shall be filled under the provisions of Article 11: Appointments & Transfers. Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of recent (within the past two years) acute care experience is required, with surgical experience considered an asset. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred. A solid understanding of the Baby-Friendly Initiative is preferred. Experience with Connect Care, including the Stork application, is considered an asset.
