Role: Data & AI Engineer / Developer Duration: 12 months Location: Montreal: 3 days a week on-site Hiring Mode: Contract (Long-Term)
Pay: CAD 65/Hr.
We are seeking a highly skilled Data & AI Engineer with expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Python, Cloud Technologies, and AI-powered development tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable data solutions, developing data pipelines, and leveraging modern AI platforms such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot to enhance productivity, automation, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize data solutions using Snowflake as the primary cloud data platform. Create and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data models to support reporting and analytics needs. Develop scalable data processing, automation, and integration solutions using Python. Build and manage cloud-based data architectures, ensuring reliability, security, and performance. Collaborate with business and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions. Utilize AI technologies, including Claude and Microsoft Copilot, to accelerate development, automate workflows, improve code quality, and enhance knowledge management. Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, security, and performance optimization. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues while continuously improving existing processes and solutions. Stay current with emerging cloud, data engineering, and AI technologies to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience Strong experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse and related data engineering concepts. Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, optimization, and analysis. Strong programming skills in Python for data processing, automation, scripting, and API integrations. Experience working with Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Knowledge of AI/Generative AI technologies and practical experience using tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot. Understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and analytics solutions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience working in Agile development environments is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating AI capabilities into business or data engineering workflows. Familiarity with machine learning, LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted software development. Relevant certifications in Snowflake, Cloud Platforms, or AI technologies are a plus.
