About the role
The candidate will support various projects leading a team of technical staff to design and deliver of shore-based labs for internal use as well as to customer sites.
- The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for the overall design and delivery of the shore-based labs per project requirements. Specifically
- Work with stakeholders and equipment providers to establish facility requirements to house intended equipment
- Work with building stakeholders (internal or external), design agents and contractors to prepare the facility to house intended equipment.
- Oversee the installation of equipment when delivered and support lab commissioning and acceptance
- Note that this responsibility may also include the system design of the equipment to be housed in the shore facility as well, depending on the nature of the lab.
- Oversee the development and conduct the review of all contractual documentation produced by the project facilities team
- Manage the suppliers and/or subcontractors as required.
- Manage Master Schedule activities that pertain to shore-based lab design and implementation
- Manage the budgets that pertain to shore-based lab design and implementation
- Regularly liaise directly with the customer regarding the planning and execution of shore-based lab design, and procurement (as required), and installation, including the development of presentation material
- Collect, analyze and report metrics and status to the program technical leads and program management
- Participate in the development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for cost and schedule
- Work within the larger Engineering & Technology organization to support program staffing demands
- Be responsible for the overall design and delivery of the shore-based labs per project requirements. Specifically
What you bring to the role
- Degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical engineering, Combat Systems Engineering
- Knowledge in Systems Engineering
- Ability to prioritize competing demands
- Proven track record of successfully leading a team, demonstrating strong project management, customer management and leadership skills
- Proficiency in planning, execution, and reporting using industry-standard tools and methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to develop budgetary estimates and then manage cost and schedule post award
Additional skills desired for the role
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and Cameo software
- Experience in space arrangements and outfitting, using 2D or 3D AutoCAD or other CAD software
- Experience with Microsoft Common Office Tools
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience with building infrastructure design (particularly electrical and mechanical) and implementation
