About the role
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Technician to join our client's manufacturing team in GTA, ON region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on forklifts and related equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using proper testing tools and techniques.
- Repair and replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
- Respond to emergency repair calls in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Assist with training operators on equipment care and basic troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as a forklift mechanic/technician or heavy equipment mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service instructions.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver’s license; forklift certification is an asset.
