About the role

Dairy Farmers of Canada is the national policy, lobbying and promotional organization representing Canadian dairy producers. DFC strives to create stable conditions for the dairy sector in our country. It also seeks to maintain policies that promote the sustainability of Canadian dairy production and promote dairy products and their health benefits. We are currently seeking a Coordinator, National Nutrition Programs to join our team based in Montreal.

Job Summary

Reporting to a position designated by DFC, the Coordinator, National Nutrition Programs supports the National Nutrition team in the planning, coordination and delivery of Dairy Farmers of Canada’s (DFC) nutrition programs, campaigns and initiatives. This role provides project coordination, operational and administrative support, and assists with the development and maintenance of digital content and resources.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Project & Event Coordination a) Coordinating logistics for conferences, webinars, meetings, and other virtual or in-person events. b) Managing project timelines, registrations, participant communications and event materials. c) Coordinating with external partners, agencies, consultants, speakers, suppliers and service providers to ensure successful program delivery. d)Support the coordination, approval and filing of contracts, statements of work and other project documentation as required. e) Supporting national campaigns and other programs, including print production, mailings, promotional materials and distribution logistics. f) Coordinating resource printing, inventory management and fulfillment with external suppliers. g) Providing project coordination and support for research reviews, literature reviews and other special initiatives, as required.

  2. Digital Content and Communications a) Maintaining and updating DairyNutrition.ca and WhatYouEat.ca, including uploading and organizing content, resources, recipes, short videos, webinars and campaign pages. b) Coordinating with external web agencies to resolve website or content management system (CMS) issues. c) Supporting the development and distribution of NutriNews and other electronic communications, including preparing draft content, formatting content, creating tracking links and monitoring performance metrics. d) Assisting with the development of digital communications, including social media content, researching and selecting appropriate images, maintaining content and production calendars, basic graphic design and video editing. e) Proofreading, fact-checking and formatting social media posts, website articles, brochures, nutrition resources and other communication materials to ensure accuracy, consistency and quality. f) Monitoring resource orders and coordinating with fulfillment providers to resolve order or inventory issues. g) Identifying opportunities to improve website content and recommending updates to ensure information remains current and relevant.

  3. Operational, Financial and Administrative Support a) Monitoring program budgets, maintaining budget tracking tools and supporting regular financial reviews. b) Processing invoices, monitoring expenditures and coordinating financial approvals. c) Preparing financial information, reports and supporting documentation for internal planning and reporting. d) Managing shared team inboxes and supporting general administrative activities. e) Serve as one of the backups to the Office Administrator during absences by providing basic office administration support, including maintaining common areas and the kitchen, assisting with mail and courier services, and performing other routine administrative tasks to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the office Performs other related duties as required.

Professional Skills

a) Excellent reading, written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual is an asset. b) Strong project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines and stakeholders simultaneously. c) Knowledge of the Canadian nutrition and health landscape, including familiarity with health professional organizations and nutrition education initiatives. d) Knowledge of the Canadian dairy sector and of the scientific evidence supporting the role of dairy foods in overall health is considered an asset. e) Team player; f) Must be highly professional, have good judgment, and respect confidentiality; g) Proactively take initiative, and able to multitask and demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure; h) Adaptability to change and ability to navigate uncertainty; i) Ability to work independently to manage multiple assignments and projects, while prioritizing and respecting deadlines; j) Ability to work in cross-collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and k) Detail-oriented, organized, diligent in preparation and delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

a) Registered Dietitian (RD) with a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics. Member in good standing of the Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ). b) Minimum 1-2 years experience coordinating projects, programs or campaigns, including planning, logistics, budgets and stakeholder coordination. c) Experience working with health professionals, professional associations, external agencies or other stakeholders in the health, nutrition or not-for-profit sectors. d) Experience developing digital content, websites, newsletters and/or social media content is considered an asset. e) Strong ability to interpret and communicate nutrition and scientific information accurately for a variety of audiences. f) Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and experience using content management systems (CMS) and project management tools is considered an asset. g) Bilingual (French and English).

Working Environment

Dairy Farmers of Canada offers flexible work arrangements for a variety of needs, including hours of work. Candidates and incumbents are encouraged to disclose accommodation requirements to People & Culture. Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Travel is required to attend meetings primarily within Canada. Travel should not exceed 30% of total working time. This position may require occasional flexibility in work hours, including early mornings, evenings, or extended hours, to meet organizational and operational requirements.
