Opening Statement
The R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is a Long-Term Care Home to 137 Residents and employs approx. 250 staff in various Departments.
RN Skills & Abilities required– Key focus areas are Leadership, Care Standards Consistency, Team Coordination, and Delivery of Competent Nursing Care.
Qualifications required– RN or BScN at an accredited School/College of Nursing. Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of NS. Recent experience in geriatric setting preferred. Demonstrate competency in team building, conflict resolution, delegation, and leadership. Current CPR certification required with annual updates and annual WHMIS required. Regular & consistent attendance is essential.

Hours of Work
Temporary Full time
Days (12 hr. shifts). Short week/Long Week (Subject to change).
Pay for full hours and breaks 80 hrs. biweekly
S**alary:**Based on service years within the NSNU contract
Benefits/Pension Information
Comprehensive Benefits NA (less than one (1) yr.)
Pension –Yes (Can defer for three (3) mos. if not currently enrolled)
Vacation, holiday – Yes
Sick benefits- yes following probation period (720 hrs. RN)
