Sales Representative – Mechanical (Ottawa and Gatineau)

The sales territory primarily covers Ottawa – Kingston and select markets across the region. The successful candidate ideally resides within Ottawa Region and will be working remotely.

Job Summary The successful candidate will manage the sales activity for Mechanical Customers (Plumbing / HVAC / Industrial) in Ottawa / Eastern Ontario . This will include calling on IPEX distributors, mechanical / HVAC / industrial contractors, specifying engineers, developers, and inspectors
Principal Responsibilities
- Become a trusted advisor to all industry stakeholders by offering technical and overall market expertise.
- Develop long-term relationships with distributors, contractors, & engineers and secure their commitment to our products.
- Protect existing IPEX market as well as grow share by converting contractors & engineers from traditional metal piping systems to IPEX Mechanical Systems.
- Promote IPEX products at industry trade shows, distributor training sessions, engineering lunch & learns, and contractor installation trainings.
- Investigate and follow up on sales leads and potential new markets.
- Collaborate with and support IPEX sales colleagues to achieve Team objectives.
- Work closely with IPEX Customer Service, Innovation, Marketing, and Product Management.
- Track sales activity in CRM, provide monthly market reports, and contribute to forecasting & market share exercises.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree or College Diploma is an asset.
- Minimum 3-5 years of successful experience in sales and customer facing activities.
- Excellent command of the English language – Bilingual in French & English is required.
- Construction Industry experience is an asset.
- Proven excellent communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to work independently with strong self-motivation skills.
- Willingness to travel overnight 20% of the time.
