Job Description:
**POSITION SUMMARY:**Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, provides administrative, clerical, and scheduling support for the Divisional sections and assists with the time management and hiring processes.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures staffing requirements for all Pioneer Ridge sections are met to comply with operational needs and as directed by supervisors.
- Schedules staff, maintains a master schedule, ensures staff replacement, and coordinates the vacation selection process, while following applicable collective agreement and Employment Standards Act requirements.
- Maintains and archives relevant scheduling data, and time sheets as per Corporate policies.
- Assists in scheduling educational sessions and orientation for all Pioneer Ridge staff as required.
- Assists in the filling of vacancies and empty rotations in collaboration with Supervisors, payroll and Administrative Assistants.
- Assists in the creation of new schedules, as required.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives related to staffing and scheduling software.
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Secondary school graduation together with a minimum of three years’ scheduling experience, preferably in a large institutional setting
Skills/Abilities:
- An understanding of the needs of the long-term care sector related to staffing and an ability to deal with staff
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to comprehend and apply rules and guidelines related to scheduling
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with superiors, co-workers, staff, and the public
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Self-starter with proven organizational and analytical skills
- Independent judgment when dealing with confidential or sensitive issues
- Proficient in the use of a computer and related word processing and spreadsheet software
- Competent within the meaning of theOccupational Health and Safety Act
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Must undergo a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
- Must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination at point of conditional offer
- Prior to commencing employment, will be required to review and attest/affirm to all Pioneer Ridge Staff Immunization Policies
- Must have successfully undergone a "two step" tuberculosis skin test within the 12 months prior to employment
- Must sign and abide byEmployee Confidentiality Statement
- Prior to commencing employment, must undergo a successful Offence & Professional Misconduct Declaration Process
- Must successfully complete all mandatory training as required by the Corporation on an annual basis
