Opportunity
The Department of Humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Science at MacEwan University invites applications for a 10-month limited term appointment in French at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing August 1, 2026, subject to final budgetary approval.
Although the area of expertise is flexible, you will have experience teaching French language acquisition courses as well as French literatures and cultures. The teaching load will be eight courses over Fall, Winter, and Spring. Native or near native fluency in French is required.
The Department of Humanities is a multidisciplinary department housing programs in Classics, French, History, Philosophy, and Spanish. The Department values collaboration and integration, as evidenced by our great works-based Humanities courses and our emerging interest in digital humanities. Comfort in a multidisciplinary humanist environment and experience making connections between humanist disciplines are assets.
You will hold at least an M.A., or preferably a Ph.D. or ABD, in a relevant area of expertise and will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching. The 10-month position will commence on August 1, 2026, and is subject to final budgetary approval.
