Barney Printing, a division of The Aylmer Express is a locally owned and operated commercial printer with a proud history of excellence in quality, service and community focus. We are currently seeking a full-time Production Coordinator to support the daily workflow of our commercial print facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day daily production scheduling and workflow coordination, supporting the Production Manager
- Identify potential delays, missing information or production issues and help escalate them appropriately
- Track jobs through production to help ensure deadlines are met
- Work with customer service, prepress, press, bindery and shipping staff to keep jobs moving efficiently
- Help coordinate materials, job tickets, proofs, approvals and production information
- Spend regular time on the production floor to monitor job progress and assist with coordination between departments
- Assist with production tasks or order completion when needed to help meet deadlines
- Support quality control by through spot checks to ensure that work matches job specifications and customer expectations
- Help maintain organized production records and job documentation
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Detail-oriented, reliable and able to follow through on tasks
- Ability to read, understand and use production reports or job data to support decision-making
- Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, professional approach under pressure
- Able to balance computer-based coordination with hands-on support on the production floor
- Strong computer skills and comfort learning business software systems (familiarity with MIS, ERP, production management or job tracking software is an asset)
- Experience in print production, manufacturing, project coordination or customer service is an asset
- Print knowledge is helpful, but a willingness to learn and strong coordination skills are most important
