Position: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
Location : Edson Zone
Start Date : September 1 2026 until June 29, 2026
Hours of work: Full-Time, 37.5 (1.0 FTE) Hours per week, 10 Months per year.
The competition will remain open until : 12:00 pm May 21, 2026.
Reports to: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and the Director of Inclusion
Roles and Responsibilities:
In this role, you will work under the direction and supervision of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist to provide high-quality therapeutic services. You will be part of the Inclusive Learning Team. You will be instrumental in implementing treatment plans that help students overcome communication barriers, allowing them to thrive academically and socially.
- Direct Intervention : Conduct speech and language screenings ( without interpretation) and provide therapy sessions following the treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP
- Student Support: Assist with clinical activities including articulation, language, fluency, and voice disorders, as well as the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC )devices.
- Documentation: Maintain Accurate, timely records of student progress and prepare clinical materials for use in the classroom or therapy room.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and the special education team to ensure therapy goals are integrated into the students daily routine
- Equipment Management: Assist in the maintenance and programming of assistive technology and instructional materials.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's diploma in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or communication disorders.
- Licensure: SLPA License or registration (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience: Previous experience working with school-aged children in an educational or clinical setting is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data collection and familiarity with AAC devices and software
- Soft Skills: Exceptional Patience, a collaborative spirit and a genuine love for supporting diverse learners.
- Mentorship: Work directly with experienced SLPs who are committed to your professional growth.
