The Role
As a member of the site maintenance engineering team, you will report to the Lead Technologist, Maintenance. Sr. Maintenance Technologists are responsible for providing mechanical design and drafting, and technical support for maintenance and operations for performing maintenance and operation of the mill. Maintenance technologists may also be engaged to work with & support activities performed by Technical Services, Safety, Environment and Asset Management & Reliability personnel.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure safety is at the forefront of all activities and performed in accordance with Cameco’s processes, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform equipment inspections and prepare reports on mining and mill process equipment.
- Drawing creation for site managed projects and drawing revisions to conform to as-built conditions or modifications made through Management of Change.
- Shared administration duties for the site document and drawing management system (Vault), checking and approval of mechanical designs.
Required:
-
Diploma in mechanical engineering technology or CAD/CAM technology or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, eligible for EIT registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)

Six to eight years of relevant industrial work experience
-
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
-
A.Sc.T., C.E.T., or international equivalent certification
-
Support the integration of various design tools, piping system design, and mechanical discipline design workflows and CAD processes
-
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:

Experience in piping, equipment design, layout, building services and HVAC as well as materials handling and equipment procurement
-
Experience in inspection of tanks, piping, pressure vessel system and other mining related equipment using NDE
-
Hands-on experience in AutoCAD and 3D modelling
-
Familiarity with Vault or similar drawing management systems
-
Reliability & Asset management experience
-
Experience working in maintenance and projects environments
-
Experience with ERP system such as SAP

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN).
The Key Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
