The salary range for this role, based in Walkerville , is $67,040.00 to $83,800.00 . The range may vary if the role outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position. Position Summary The Process Improvement Supervisor is responsible for driving excellence in health and safety, quality, environmental stewardship, and food safety within the Blending and Drain & Fill operations. This role ensures the production of the highest quality product while minimizing operating costs, meeting production schedules, and delivering a high level of internal customer service through strong team leadership and empowerment.
The position oversees and coordinates all blending department activities, working closely with supervisors, operators, maintenance, quality, and external stakeholders. The incumbent will triage departmental communications, support and enhance existing programs, and lead initiatives to resolve production bottlenecks and operational challenges.
This role is accountable for scheduling and managing a unionized workforce to ensure production deadlines are achieved. The Supervisor will also coordinate cross-functional collaboration to support new programs, capital projects, system improvements, and continuous process optimization initiatives.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (Sections 25, 26, 27, and 28) in alignment with company Management, Supervision, and Worker Safety responsibilities
- Lead and manage unionized workforce including scheduling, timekeeping, vacation planning, overtime allocation, and performance management
- Participate in shift toolbox talks to remain aligned on safety updates, production performance, training needs, incident investigations, Care Tours, and process improvement initiatives
- Escalate departmental updates, risks, and concerns to second-level leadership discussions
- Manage procurement and ordering of blending supplies
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Lead Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standardization and verification of tasks performed within the department
- Deliver operator training (new hire and refresher) to ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, environmental, and food safety standards
- Conduct and maintain documentation of daily and weekly equipment safety inspections
- Maintain and continuously improve the Distributed Control System (DCS) in collaboration with Blending Supervisors and the Automation team
- Coordinate with Maintenance to prioritize and schedule work based on production needs and equipment availability
- Serve as departmental lead on capital projects up to $2M CAD, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget
- Drive achievement of Blending department strategic objectives and performance targets
- Conduct Root Cause Analyses to eliminate non-conformances and prevent recurrence
- Ensure compliance with all company management systems and applicable legislation
- Provide vacation and operational coverage for Blending Supervisor and Drain & Fill Supervisor as required

Education & Experience
- Required: College Diploma in Chemical/Mechanical/Process Engineering Technology
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Process Engineering, 5+ years in processing industry.

- Participates in goal setting and accountable for own, limited budget for asset administration and goals. Operates in predetermined limits.
