Position: Casual Bus Driver
Employment Type: Casual – primarily weekends, with flexibility for outings/trips

Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the community bus to transport residents to outings, shopping trips and off-site events
 - Assist residents with boarding and disembarking, including those using walkers, wheelchairs or other mobility aids
 - Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance/safety concerns
 - Ensure the vehicle is clean, tidy and presentable for residents
 - Follow designated routes, adhere to time schedules, and adjust as needed for resident needs or traffic conditions
 - Maintain clear communication with residents, staff and families; demonstrate patience, respect and a positive attitude
 - Uphold all relevant safety regulations, traffic laws and senior-living community standards
 
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Class 4 Unrestricted BC Driver’s License for bus/ passenger transport in British Columbia.
 - Clean driver’s abstract (no more than one violation in the past 2 years, or as otherwise defined by our insurance provider)
 - Weekend availability and flexibility for occasional evenings or special outings
 - Demonstrated professionalism, strong communication skills and ability to work with older adults
 - Physical fitness/ability to assist residents getting on/off the bus, support mobility aids as necessary
 - Willingness to complete a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (required when working with seniors)
 
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of professional driving experience, ideally in a senior-living, healthcare or residential transport environment
 - Current First Aid/CPR certification
 - Experience or training in assisting older adults or people with mobility limitations
 - Strong customer service mentality and ability to remain calm under pressure
 - Familiarity with safety procedures for senior transportation, including wheelchair securement, safe boarding/disembarkation, etc.
