About the role

Shopify Operations Specialist (12-Month Parental Leave Cover June 2026-May 2027)

Squamish, BC | Remote / Hybrid / On-site

Our Why

We don't just manage a store; we support a community. At Climb On

, we show up for our team and our customers the same way we show up at the crag:

-Live the Climb:

We live the mountain lifestyle we sell. Our passion is the heartbeat of this business. -Customers as Partners:

We treat customers (& Staff) like climbing partners—with total focus and genuine care. -Community Connection:

We don’t just exist in the sport; we are active, present participants in it. -Finish the Pitch:

We value follow-through. When a task is on the wall, we see it through to the anchors.

About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Shopify Power User to join us for a 14-month term. This is a critical role designed to maintain the technical heartbeat of our e-commerce store. With over 10,000 online sales transactions annually, you aren't just "filling a seat"—you are the custodian of our backend efficiency.

You will inherit a high-performing store and an extensive SOP manual. Your goal is to ensure the integrity of our data, coordinate with our Associate-level Assistant, and keep our catalog operations running at peak performance.

Your Technical Beta (Key Responsibilities)

-Workflow Coordination:

Partner with an Associate-level E-Commerce  Assistant

to delegate and oversee daily data entry and catalog tasks, ensuring accuracy and hitting launch deadlines. -SOP Custodianship:

Maintain and audit our extensive Process Manual

. You will ensure all documentation stays current as Shopify evolves and draft new SOPs for any new workflows or app integrations introduced during your term. -Catalog Matrix:

Manage technical product setup (over 4000 existing products), complex variant nesting and high-level categorization for technical sporting goods. -Technical Data Management:

Maintain “Comparison” and “Filter” sections using Shopify Metafields

and Metaobjects

. -Bulk Operations & Speed:

Master the use of Matrixify to execute high-speed updates to pricing, inventory, and metadata across thousands of SKUs without errors. -SEO & Discoverability:

Optimise on-page technical SEO and internal site searchability. This includes managing meta-titles, descriptions, and URL redirects to maintain high search rankings and ensure effortless in-app product discovery -Lifecycle Management:

Oversee seasonal product transitions, limited time sale events, bundles and discount codes. Organizing Sale Collections and ensuring discontinued SKUs are properly archived and redirected to preserve SEO value. -Checkout Flow & Logic:

Monitor and optimize the end-to-end checkout flow. You will ensure payment gateways, discount logic, and shipping calculations are frictionless—because a "send" only counts when you clip the anchors -Fulfillment Logistics:

Configure and audit Shipping Profiles to ensure accurate rates, delivery expectations, and carrier logic are maintained across our technical catalog. -Quality Assurance:

Conduct frequent "site walks" to identify and resolve broken links, missing images, or incorrect sizing charts.

Who You Are

-3+ Years Shopify Experience:

Deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and analytics. -Immediate Impact:

Ability to "hit the ground running" by following established SOPs with minimal hand-holding. -Industry Context:

Experience with technical sporting goods or outdoor gear is a major asset. You understand how technical hardware specs and complex variant nesting impact the customer's decision-making process. -Data Literate:

High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for large-scale catalog management. -Obsession with Accuracy:

A zero-tolerance policy for data drift. You treat every SKU update with clinical precision. -Basic Web Skills:

Understanding of HTML/CSS and Shopify's Liquid logic for site improvement and tweaks.

Compensation & Term Benefits

-Salary:

$35–$40 Hourly + up to 10% KPI achievement Bonus at end of Term. -Time Commitment:

~32 hours/week (Negotiable 24–40 hours ). -Benefits:

Extended Health Care, Pro-Deal, and Staff Discount on Gear. -Term:

14-month fixed-term contract (commencing June 1, 2026).
