Our Regional Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing (RDPN) program at Stenberg College is expanding, and we’re looking for caring, organized, and relationship-focused nurses to join our Clinical Instructional Faculty in the South Island region.
About the Program:
For the past 19 years, Stenberg College has been an industry leader in providing psychiatric nursing education in British Columbia.
The RDPN program is the only psychiatric nursing program in B.C. that is offered province-wide to 7 regions through a hybrid, blended delivery, 8-semester, 147-credit program. Students engage in synchronous and asynchronous learning through online theory courses, complete in-person lab simulation at one of our five regional lab spaces, and in-person clinical practice experiences that expose students to a variety of health status, across the life span, and with varying complexity.
About the Role:
- Location: South Island
- Employment Type: Contract
- Schedule: We aim to schedule one to two 8-hr or 12-hr shifts weekly (120-180 hours contracts available)
- Pay rate: Starting at $62.50 per hour, plus additional paid time for orientation and administrative time.
What You Will Do:
As a clinical instructor, you would be providing regulatory supervision of students while they complete their clinical practice experience in a general medical/ medical surgical setting. You would provide support and mentorship to students while they provide care to their assigned patients. Within your role, you will have access to our Clinical Practice Specialist located in the North Island region who will provide you with guidance as you settle into this new position.
Who You Are:
The candidates will require the following.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with active practicing registration (in good standing) with the BCCNM with a minimum of 5 full-time years of nursing experience
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing; Master’s degree (completed or in progress) preferred
- Leadership and/or Educator experience is an asset
- Possess a solid understanding of various software applications and tools, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office and Teams communication platforms.
