Position Overview: The CAT Rental Store (TCRS) is looking for a Dual Ticket Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic/Apprentice Electrician to join our amazing team based in Edmonton. You will be responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of rental equipment including construction tools, small engine equipment (compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment (e.g. Mini excavators and skid steers,) as well as knowledge of diesel generators 8 KW to 200 KW.

Job Description: Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair TCRS fleet of equipment
- Perform service tasks on our product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment (e.g. Mini excavators and skid steers,) aerial work
- Interfaces with customers in the field on service calls in a courteous, business-like manner
Qualifications And Experience
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Apprentice Electrician Dual Ticket preferred
- Must possess the technical knowledge to perform service tasks on our product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment (e.g. Mini excavators and skid steers,) aerial work platform equipment as well as knowledge of diesel generators 8 KW to 200 KW
- Candidates must have proven experience servicing, diagnosing, and repairing high‑amperage electrical equipment such as generators and submersible pumps within a rental fleet environment
- Possesses excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities
- Good understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Thorough knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine electronic management systems
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
- Completion of Caterpillar product specific courses would be considered an asset
- Preference will be given to technicians with demonstrated experience supporting other branches and the flexibility to participate in the temporary transfer program on an as‑needed basis
Important Details:
- Due to physical nature of the work, a requirement of the job is to be considered fit for work.
- Capable of working evening, night shifts as well as performing after hours service calls, weekends inclusive
- Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
