Summary:
DMC is currently looking for a Procurement Coordinator to join our team on a contract basis, based in Sudbury, ON. The Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the procurement function by coordinating purchasing activities, facilitating the timely delivery of goods and services and ensuring compliance with company policies. The role focuses on operational efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the procurement process.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue accurate purchase orders to ensure timely procurement and uninterrupted operations, when required.
  • Source suppliers, obtain competitive quotations and negotiate terms, when required.
  • Monitor orders, delivery schedules and quality issues, proactively resolving discrepancies to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and audit requirements, maintaining accurate, audit-ready records.
  • Support the implementation of new procurement initiatives, policies and guidelines to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Coordinate training or awareness sessions related to build procurement knowledge and capability within the Commercial Department.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to help streamline workflows, enhance controls to strengthen procurement safeguards.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Operations, IT and site teams to address commercial issues.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as under-billing, overpayments or contract non-compliance.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of commercial governance frameworks and best-practice policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Commercial Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive procurement experience including issuing RFQs, RFPs and evaluating bids.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management and contracts administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP or procurement software is a plus.
  • Experience with internal audit, risk mitigation, controls frameworks.
  • Experience in engineering, construction, mining, infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong organizational, communication and multitasking skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and demands.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Integrity and ethical approach to procurement.

Additional Information:

  • We are hiring to fill an existing vacancy.
  • Hourly Range is expected to be between $24 to $26 CAD.

DMC is a proven innovator!

1980 The company was founded in 1980 as Dynatec Mining Limited. In its second year in business, it started building the Macassa Mine shaft, for which, it still holds the record for the deepest single-lift timbered shaft in the world.

1992 DMC developed the Long Round Concept for shaft sinking, an innovation that improved productivity by 20%.

2013 The company initiated and developed leading edge, shaft sinking technology using Shaft Boring Roadheaders (SBRs) designed and built in Germany for a twin shaft project in Canada.

2015 DMC's Jansen team performed the first ever installation of shaft tubing using a robotic arm called the Blairmore Ring Erector (BRE).
