We are looking for an engineer/scientist for (mechanical) assembly processes of Silicium or III-V-based devices (lasers and detectors) and plasma lamps. In partnership with the products leads, the incumbent will define, develop, establish, implement and control the processes, monitor the implementation of these processes, and drive improvement projects.
Your Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment;
- Support the assembly processes of silicon and III-V products;
- Support the assembly processes of plasma lamps (assembly, brazing, filling, soldering, tests and inspection);
- Understand subjacent processes that could affect the yield of test, inspection and assembly (wafer fabrication, bars & chip processing, lamps, product assembly) for any possible troubleshooting study;
- Document the inspection and test criterias;
- Establish and maintain automated mechanisms for process control and for displaying these controls (SPC for example);
- Document the processes to guarantee their stability;
- Trains and assist the production staff;
- Work in teams to resolve process issues;
- Participate in the development, qualification and transfer of production processes;
- Participate in efforts to select, acquire and qualify new equipment;
- Use and promote the Six Sigma methodology in all of your activities;
- Comply with the company's documentation system, quality policy, and process for introducing new products;
- Report and document issues related to processes or equipment failures. Take the necessary corrective and preventive measures;
- Perform other related duties, as required.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering physics, electric, electronic or equivalent;
- Master's degree or additional experience will be considered an asset;
- Experience in electronic or with electrical test processes a big asset;
- Experience working with microelectronic device manufacturing processes an asset;
- Understanding of the Six Sigma methodology and of statistical process control (green belt certification) an asset;
- Good organization skills and ability to work in teams;
- French proficiency (written and spoken);
Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
