About The Role Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary part-time Customer Service Representative - Summer Student to join our dynamic Donor Relations & Field Operations team.
The Donor Relations & Field Operations team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by providing exceptional customer service while communicating with donors. In this role, you will be confirming, scheduling and re-booking donor appointments and serving potential donors and the general public through the National Contact Centre (NCC).
Formula for success
- Leveraging your excellent customer service skills, you will act as an ambassador for Canadian Blood Services by contacting and scheduling appointments for eligible/potential blood donors to meet blood and blood products collection requirements.
- Drawing on your knowledge or experience in the customer service field, you will refer donors to appropriate staff with regards to eligibility issues or concerns.
- Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will contact donors to advise of any changes or cancellations in blood donor clinics and reschedule donor appointments as necessary.
- Capitalizing on your technical skills, you will clarify and record donor information in an accurate, concise and timely manner, as well as report and/or correct any problems or concerns regarding NCC databases or data collection procedures and systems to the appropriate department.
Desired Education And Skills
- Completion of secondary education is required.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a customer service/sales environment.
- Contact centre experience is an asset.
- Fluency in English is required, with fluency in French as an asset.
- Technical skills including proficiency in MS Office with a strong knowledge of software applications, with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) as an asset.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer service in addition to a positive attitude and ability to respond to concerns and handle a diverse donor base.
