Position Overview We are seeking a driven and experienced Electrical Lead to spearhead our expansion into electrical consulting. In this standalone position, the successful candidate possesses a high degree of autonomy and plays a key role in the evaluation, design and management of electrical systems for diverse building projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape our consulting practice, working on cutting-edge systems, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions.
General Responsibilities

- Knowledge Development: Enhance your understanding of electrical systems design, energy modelling, life cycle analysis and costing while sharing insights and lessons learned with the team.
Technical Responsibilities

Provide electrical engineering consulting services, including system evaluations, feasibility studies, and technical recommendations.

Design and oversee electrical systems, including:

Building automation systems
-
Emergency power systems
-
Power distribution systems
-
Incoming electrical service
-
Lighting systems
-
Prepare detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for tendering purposes.

Prepare documentation for submission to the authorities having jurisdiction.

Conduct construction reviews to ensure project compliance with design specifications and standards.

Manage contract administration, including coordination with contractors, suppliers and clients.
-
Lead project management activities, ensuring timely and budget-conscious project delivery.

Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project integration.

Represent Sense at client meetings and other networking functions with a commitment to exceptional service standards.

Stay updated on industry standards, technologies and best practices to deliver innovative solutions.

Other duties as assigned/required.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
- Registered with or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering consulting, with a focus on building systems.
- Proficiency in design and analysis tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit or similar software).
- Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code and other relevant standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- A problem solver with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a client-centric mindset.
- Team player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required.
