We are currently recruiting for an experienced Process Engineer to join our team!
NOTE
6 month contract (potential for extension)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity for Machining departments Perform tooling trials and capability studies Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products Develop action plans as required to investigate and prioritize quality concerns and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processes Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with Operations guidelines Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental, and Environmental standards Support ISO 14001 compliance and internal ISO auditing and compliance as required Identify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvements
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
College/ Technical Diploma or equivalent Experience working in a manufacturing environment with the ability to:Work with plant floor to identify and bottlenecks in production and work to eliminate them Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing solutions that drive measurable improvements in production Analyze production processes using Lean principles to identify improvement opportunities and reduce operational waste Work in cross functional teams to achieve organizational goals
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Applied Science Proficient in customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System (QOS); specifically in industrial manufacturing environments Demonstrated ability to execute tasks to achieve results while effectively organizing and managing multiple priorities Proven willingness to take a participatory approach to union relations, function as a collaborative team player, and serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the entire production organization (both hourly and salaried personnel Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, including practical application of Lean tools such as 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), Kanban, Poka-yoke (mistake-proofing), and Value Stream Mapping Proficient in the use of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Design of Experiments (DOE) Ability to independently assign work to trades and technicians as required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with Visual Factory Management
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$35.00 - $40.00 / hour (depending on experience) Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc. Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
