Boardwalk is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Marketing Assistant (Summer Student) to support our Marketing and Operations teams during the busy summer leasing season. These roles provide hands-on experience in event planning, community engagement, marketing, and brand execution across multiple residential communities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating Resident events, supporting local marketing initiatives, and conducting on-site marketing audits. These positions offer exposure to real-world marketing operations, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the opportunity to build professional relationships across the organization.
This is an ideal opportunity for a student pursuing a degree or diploma in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
Responsibilities Event Planning & Execution (Primary Focus)
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of Resident engagement events and community activations
- Attend and support on-site events including set-up, tear-down, vendor coordination, and guest interaction
- Represent Boardwalk at community and sponsorship events
- Help coordinate Kids Club activities and summer programming
- Track event attendance and assist with post-event reporting and feedback collection
Site Audits & Brand Compliance (Secondary Focus)
- Conduct on-site audits at residential communities to review signage, marketing materials, and brand presentation
- Document findings through photos and reports
- Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate recommendations to the Marketing team
- Assist with coordination of signage updates and installations
Collaboration & Relationship Building
- Work closely with Operations teams (Leasing and Site staff) to support marketing initiatives
- Build positive working relationships across communities
- Act as a liaison between Marketing and site teams when coordinating events and materials
Marketing Support
- Assist with social media content creation and scheduling
- Support advertising and promotional campaigns as needed
- Help manage digital assets such as photos and marketing collateral
- Provide support for regional sponsorship initiatives
- Assist with administrative tasks such as tracking invoices and organizing marketing materials
Experience & Education Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
- Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or event experience considered an asset
- Interest in marketing, events, or community engagement
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with Canva preferred
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) preferred
- Basic content creation skills are an asset
Non-Technical Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable interacting with Residents and representing Boardwalk at events
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
Additional Details
- Full-time hours from May through August
- Some evening and weekend work required (events)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Access to a vehicle required (travel between communities)
- In-office and on-site work required
