Position Overview
As a Housekeeping Intern at Cabot Cape Breton, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our guests comfort and satisfaction during their stay. Working alongside our team of professional Housekeepers, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas, contributing to the overall guest experience, and upholding Cabot Cape Breton’s high standards of cleanliness and service. This is an opportunity for an eager, dedicated student to begin to apply their skills in the workplace as they begin a career with a global leader in hospitality.

- Cleaning and Organizing: Take satisfaction in cleaning and organizing guest rooms, public areas, and other spaces to ensure they are tidy, presentable, and comfortable for guests.
- Attention to Detail: Embrace the need for attention to detail when making beds, cleaning surfaces, and restocking amenities to meet high cleanliness standards.
- Guest Interaction: Enjoy providing friendly and helpful service to guests, addressing their requests, and ensuring their comfort during their stay.
- Teamwork: Thrive in a collaborative work environment, where you work closely with other housekeeping staff to ensure the efficient cleaning and maintenance of the property.
- Time Management: Find fulfilment in managing your time efficiently to complete cleaning tasks within established timeframes while maintaining quality standards.
Preferred qualifications and skills:
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHIMIS)
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Requirements of the role you should be aware of:
- Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years.
- As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
- Long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, and crouching while performing other duties is to be expected
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and otherwise exerting up to 50 pounds of force
- Ability to ascend or descent, stairs and ramps on an occasional basis
- Ability to work with and around chemicals, and registered products and safely follow product labels
- Repetitive kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, crouching, crawling and twisting.
- Working outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions
- Constant focus and repetitive work are to be expected
- Ability to manage timeline pressures and constraints
