What You’ll Be Doing
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning, lubricating, and other maintenance work on a variety of small construction equipment and tools including diesel, gas, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts.
- Repair or replace worn, defective or broken parts.
- Assemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Accurately document all service and repair information.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications And Requirements
- Minimum of one year of related mechanical experience.
- Small Engine Technician, Motorcycle Technician or similar trade certificate (or equivalent work experience) is an asset.
- Experience working on 2 and/or 4-stroke engines.
- Experience working with equipment brands such as Stihl, Wacker, Milwaukee and Husqvarna would be an asset.
- Must have your own tools (or working towards building a complete toolset).
- Valid class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points) is considered an asset. You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.)
- Eagerness to continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging technology
- Available and willing to work overtime as needed
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
