Ballad’s Training Division is hiring a Program Supervisor; the lead role for our Calgary Workforce Employment Readiness and Connections Program. We know that’s a mouth full, so you can call it the WERC program. We invite those who love working as a program coordinator and career counsellor with extraordinary organizational and leadership skills to join our team.
But who is Ballad Group? Well, our training programs have built capacity in diverse areas including entrepreneurship, insurance, information and computer technology, construction, French language acquisition, hospitality, supply chain management, and more. We have delivered unique training programs for a variety of organizations, Indigenous Communities and on behalf of the Ministry of Jobs, Economy, Trade, and Immigration and the Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services.
But what about the WERC program? Well, the goal of the WERC program is to develop and administer individually focused direct skill enhancement training and job placement to enable multi-barriered Albertans find and maintain employment.
The Opportunity
The Program Supervisor will be the lead role in Ballad’s Calgary WERC program. This key position will be responsible for group and individualized program coordination & planning, career counselling, and team management. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the day-to-day activities and ensure effective and consistent communication with internal staff and external partners to ensure the success of each program participant.
As the internal central resource for the program, the Program Supervisor will utilize excellent judgment to develop credible and meaningful relationships with program participants and collaborate with program team members to ensure program delivery success Excellent communication skills, prioritization, and organization will be a necessity for this role.
This position is in person and will work out of Ballad’s Calgary WERC Training Centre. This position works closely with and reports to Ballad’s Regional Program Supervisor.
Program Coordination

Lead all program team members to success by ensuring Right Person Right Seat.

Organize team meetings that focus on program team and participant success.

Performance manages program team members.
Program Development
-
Lead program team members to ensure consistency and develop new program material for classroom instruction.

Ensure all instructional materials and activities are relevant and align with WERC and industry standards.

Assess and recruit qualified program participants, ensuring adherence to the intake process.

Monitor participant progress and provide essential program support to facilitate employment seeking and retention throughout their enrollment.
Program Delivery

Prepare and submit applications and reports on time and as required.

Generate, foster, and maintain professional contacts within Calgary.

Professionally liaise with internal staff & external clients

Creatively find solutions to ensure participant success.
Program Reporting

Prepare and submit required program reports to the Regional Program Supervisor.

Positively represent the program to Ballad staff and sector stakeholders

Promote program activities internally and externally through positive

communication.

Actively seek out positive solutions to solve challenges amongst staff,

participants, and partners.

Actively seek out external events to support recruitment, work experience and

job placement opportunities.
Support Work
- Service coordination, including appointment scheduling.
- Facilitating connections between participants and employers for various work experiences and job placements.
- Proactive service management to ensure participant success.
- Administrative tasks such as maintaining participant files, data entry, responding to inquiries, and preparing materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
