About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Change Management, the Project Manager will lead meaningful initiatives that shape the future of SMS Equipment. You’ll start by supporting projects within our OHSE portfolio, while also taking on diverse assignments that strengthen how we work across the business. From planning through delivery, you’ll bring people together, solve complex challenges, and deliver results that move our organization forward.

Location: Corporate Office in Acheson, AB
Salary: $90,000-$100,000 per annum plus Individual Performance Incentive.
Work arrangement: Hybrid - providing the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring objectives are met on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Translate strategy into clear project plans, milestones, and success measures that demonstrate real value.
  • Present updates, recommendations, and results through reports and presentations that support effective decision-making.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while adapting to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align goals, remove barriers, and drive collaboration.
  • Coordinate and facilitate focus groups to gather insights and feedback, integrating findings into project plans.
  • Communicate progress and expectations clearly across teams, fostering transparency and accountability.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing learnings, best practices, and innovative approaches.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate will have experience leading workforce-related projects and a proven ability to see initiatives through from concept to completion. Additional qualifications include:

  • A professional designation in HR, OHSE, Project Management, or a related field would be considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while meeting timelines and strategic goals.
  • Strong organization, time management, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • A collaborative approach that builds strong relationships across teams and levels.
  • Experience leading change initiatives and supporting smooth transitions.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and feedback to guide decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
  • A positive attitude, good judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
