IT Business Analyst (2 positions)

Term of Employment: As Soon As Possible to December 31, 2027

Salary Range: $66,906.27 to $90,502.25

Location: 205 Henlow Bay (on-site)

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours/week)

As a member of MITT’s Application Management Services, the IT Business Analyst is responsible for identifying, assessing, and implementing user needs and process improvements. The Business Analysts will consult, engage, and work collaboratively with departments as a strategic partner to understand their goals and priorities. The BA will assess current application functionality and capabilities, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and develop solutions to ensure MITT applications continue to provide value. This position reports directly to the Senior IT Project Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Requirements Gathering and Analysis

  • Collaborate with Finance leadership and staff to capture and document detailed business requirements.
  • Analyze existing financial processes (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, budgeting, reporting, payroll integration) and identify gaps or improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with documenting business processes.
  • Develop and maintain use cases/journey maps/user stories for the ERP implementation.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications for ERP configuration.
  • Evaluate opportunities for process re-design based on best practices.

ERP Implementation Support

  • Validate ERP functionality against Finance requirements through user acceptance testing (UAT) and reconciliation activities.
  • Assist Finance with changing current business processes to match ERP’s workflow.
  • Support data migration efforts, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data transferred to the new system.
  • Document workflows, process maps, and new procedures created during the implementation.
  • Assist Finance with deliverable approvals and sign-offs.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Finance during project meetings and cross-departmental discussions.
  • Communicate system updates, timelines, and impacts to Finance stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Support change management activities, including training Finance staff on ERP tools, dashboards, and processes.

Continuous Improvement & Post-Go Live Support

  • Assist with stabilization activities after ERP go-live, troubleshooting issues and escalating as needed.
  • Recommend enhancements or additional modules to improve Finance operations.
  • Support the Finance team in adopting ERP reporting tools for improved analytics and decision-making.

Documentation

  • Develop and maintain documentation including requirements, solution overviews, wireframes, solution designs, process maps, flow charts ,use cases/journey maps/user stories for the ERP implementation.

Professionalism

  • Adhering to MITT’s policies, procedures and behavior standards.
  • Serving on MITT committees.
  • Interacting with non-MITT parties in a manner that adheres to college policies and establishes functional working relationships.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

A combination of related education and experience may be considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience working directly with Finance teams and a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably with ERP or financial system implementation.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record check including vulnerable sector and Child Abuse Registry Check.
