On-Call Secretaries (Candidate Pool)
About the role
Nature Of The Work The Lester B. Pearson School Board is seeking applicants interested in becoming on call/replacement secretaries for short term replacement opportunities in our schools and centers.
Working under the direction of management, the principal and customary work of the employee in this class of employment consists in assisting one or more persons in carrying out secretarial tasks in accordance with board policy and procedures. The position provides secretarial services to students, parents and the public as required.
Qualifications Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Secretarial Studies, a Secondary School Diploma or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
AND
Have a basic knowledge of office automation.
Other Requirements

Bilingual (English and French)

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and general secretarial procedures

Testing required
-
Knowledge of GPI systems would be an asset
-
Knowledge of entry of absences and substitution in the payroll system would be an asset
-
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
-
Receptive and friendly attitude
-
Familiarity with how a school functions on a daily basis would be an asset
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Able to work additional hours in the evening throughout the school year
-
Knowledge of the student registration process would be an asset

Ability and disposition to deal with all types of students

Understanding and using Google would be an asset
Daily Tasks/Responsibilities
- Collect fee payments and all student forms (medical, media, google etc)
- Manage and understand Mozaik, GPI, school messenger, managebac, Scolago, fusion & SSO
- Manage the maintenance of student files
- Change addresses and any related issues with student records
- Some evenings may also be required
- Other related tasks
- Staff and student absences
- Help with organization of convocation
- Help with organization of school photos and STM

The Lester B. Pearson is the largest K-12 English school board in the province of Quebec. LBPSB educational territory covers the western portion of the Island of Montreal and off Island communities. It includes a network of 40 elementary, 12 High schools, 2 Adult education centers and 3 vocational centers serving a population of over 25,000 youth and adult students.
